Dissent
I see the storms of dissent ‘ blowin’ across the Irish
I hear the hungry seagulls cry that sounds so childish
Those abandoned beaches and promenades
The deflated sound of arcades discarded
Artists that can no longer sing the blues
They no longer have the right to choose
Take outs, restaurants and other eateries
We can no longer enter to enjoy the feed
When is this going to stop?
It’s all down to us to stop the rot
Let’s all get herded immunity
And live together for all eternity
Office blocks and boutique shops have disappeared
We will no longer have a high street is rightly feared
People all working from homes
Life’s misspent on laptops and mobile phones
The stats will say we are all blind and fat
But, they don’t care that, is a fact
Signs that say “ you no longer have a life”
The unwritten rule you’ve lost the right to survive.
When is this going to stop?
It’s all down to us to stop the rot
Let’s all get herded immunity
And live together for all eternity
